Goa, I one of my favorite places to visit in India. It has beautiful beach life, wildlife sanctuaries, crazy parties, amazing fish food..everything that makes a nice vacation if you plan it well. ‘Hotels In South Goa‘ , its a series where I give my honest experience of the stay in Goa. I hope it will help you to plan your Goa trip. Lets get started.
AlaGoa Resort : Is It Affordable Hotels In South Goa ??
..picture is taken from Booking.com..for real pictures of this resort keep on reading..
I am back from a nice South Goa trip. South Goa is less commercialized than north Goa. It was a off season (rainy season July – August) when I visited South Goa.
If you are looking for budget friendly, affordable hotels in South Goa then Alagoa is one of such hotels. Let me share my AlaGoa Stay experience with you.
I had stayed in this resort for 2 nights and 3 days.
Location : Where is Alagoa Hotel in South Goa
…our swimming pool facing hut in Alagoa resort…
Location wise, Alagoa resort has a plus point. It is 30 minutes driving distance from Goa airport as well as Madgoan railway station.
From Goa airport or Madgoan railway station you can easily get a cab to reach to this resort.
The road towards Alagoa is surrounded by nature. The resort is quite at one corner, which gives a nice peaceful experience.
The surrounded area has typical goan houses and another plus point is the beautiful Betalbatim beach is just 10-15 minutes walk-able distance from it.
My First Impression Of Ala Goa Resort:
I booked this resort online and I must say, the resort was same as shown in its online pictures. It was a off season in Goa, so when I reached there almost entire resort was empty. On day one there were no tourists.
Since there were hardly any people, the staff was in much relax mood.
Inspite of not much tourists, the resort was very well mentioned, I could see the staff doing daily tasks like gardening, cleaning etc. Great
Lets Talk About Accommodation..
I had booked a swimming pool side hut. But on arriving, the receptionist handed me a key of garden facing hut. As per her, if more people come to stay then swimming pool area becomes noisy.
However we preferred to stick to our decision to stay at the swimming pool side hut. And she made the required changes quickly.
…these are garden facing huts..
…beautiful way towards garden facing huts..
Our swimming pool facing hut was spacious and clean. It was just right opposite to the swimming pool.
It had a large bed, one medium sized table with a chair, TV, attached showroom, locker. Some local liqueur brand bottles were kept on the table (of course not free :P).
Lets start the room tour of our swimming pool side hut.
The receptionist told us will get one liter of mineral water bottle free everyday. Which we did get.
It was a medium size swimming pool and water was so clean. I did enter in the swimming pool.
Most of the resorts put too much chlorine in swimming pool water due to which sometimes you get skin allergy or eye itchiness. I had once suffered from eye itchiness.
But here the experience was nice. One can order food and drinks swimming pool side.
I totally forgot to click swimming pictures during day time. But you can check swimming pool pictures on Booking.com website.
Exploring The Resort Property:
The entire property is full of trees, coconut trees, all sort of decoration plants. I got a chance to meet the resort owner and came to know, he loves gardening.
So I could make out, why there were so many trees. If you are lucky then you can get fresh coconut water here. It has garden facing and swimming pool facing huts.
There is a separate building outside where reception area and a massage room present.
Just opposite the swimming pool, there is a small bar and kitchen.
In peak season (start from October – till Jan), the resort is full of foreigners, majority of them come from Russia.
Food At Alagoa Resort
On first we had our breakfast here. I ordered Poha. Frankly speaking I did not like the breakfast much.
…some sandwich with french fries…
….fresh coconut water…
..poha..for presentation 100 marks and for taste 30 marks…
..another bread item for breakfast..
The very famous Martin’s corner hotel where you can get authentic goan food is again 15-20 minutes walkable distance from Alagoa resort. During our stay, we had our meals at Martin’s Corner, which was yum.
I did not find much hotels to eat around. But if you if rent a two wheeler then you can explore more.
On last day, we had dinner at Alagoa, food was ok. I would recommend to explore more available food options around this resort or Martin’s corner is all time best.
..goan fish curry with white rice..
..tendoor roti…its a kind of Indian bread..once can eat with vegetable and chicken curry
More Facilities at Alagoa Resort
They have Ayurvedic massage center. Me and Aditya went for full body massage. I guess we paid 2ooo INR each.
I had previously done full body massage many times. By considering that, this massage was not that great.
Also the massage room was not well maintained.
Post massage, I could noticed the lady’s face, she was expecting a tip. So we paid total 200 INR as a tip.
At the reception area you can book a cab. We did not book from here as we found the rate was little hire.
Also at the reception area, one can find free books to read.
Would I Recommend Alagoa??
So thats all about my experience of staying at Alagoa resort. Its one of the budget hotels in south goa. Accommodation, location wise its amazing. Food was so so type.
Yes, I would recommend Alagoa resort. You can check the current accomodation rates HERE. And if you are concerned about the food, then you can visit Martin’s corner for delicious goan food.
If you wish to check then there is one more affordable hotels in South Goa, the Oceanic View Resort.
Thats all for today guys. As always stay happy and stay blessed. Keep on visiting my website.
